🧩 PCBA Update

As you all know, back at the end of November 2024, the Ukrainian team began redesigning the PCBA. This process took a few months to finalize. Once complete, we began searching for a new PCBA factory to manufacture the boards, which also took time. Finally, the new factory produced the latest iteration which you can see below. If you zoom in and look closely at the pictures, you’ll notice “TSS-20241126” which is the new boards designed by our Ukrainian team.

As per our last email update, the PCBAs have been underway and we expect them to ship in the next 7 days. The short 7 day delay is due to us waiting on battery samples from our battery supplier.

As we shared months ago, the previous Chinese designed PCBA was not delivering enough power to the device, which caused multiple electronics to malfunction. One of our fixes was to increase the system’s power capacity and address the PCBA’s shortcomings. While we were at it, we also upgraded the safe’s battery from 8,000 mAh to 10,000 mAh, a nice bonus that will give everyone even more standby time if the power goes out and the backup battery is the source of power for the safe.

Once the battery samples are received by the PCBA factory, the PCBA+ battery shipment will head to Ukraine for testing.

Here’s what’s next:

• Shipping to Ukraine will take around 4 weeks. 
• Once received by the Ukraine team, PCBA testing will take about a month. 

We are hoping that after testing, this PCBA will be approved for MP. Please remember, while there’s always a chance another redesign could be required, our expectation is that this iteration will pass and move forward without further changes.🤞🏻

Anything else we should be aware of? Yes, at this stage, we believe the earliest we will see a mass production run will be around January.

We are still actively seeking outside investment to sell part of the company, which would help support mass production and offset some of the losses we’ve absorbed throughout development.

TLDR - SUMMARY

• PCBA test orders will be shipped to the Ukraine team for testing in the next 10 days. This means we will not begin an MP order for the PCBAs for at least 3 months. 

• We continue to make fixes to the safe OS and mobile app.

• Mass production is not projected before January.
