September 2025 - Update

🔋 Battery

Here are some images of the 10,000mAh battery we upgraded to. Due to the new battery being larger than the old 8,000mAh one, it required a small internal adjustment to our inner battery compartment, which is already completed by our mechanical engineers, and has no effect on customers or a delay.

🧩 PCBA Update

We were holding back from sending this update because we wanted the PCBAs to be delivered beforehand, but they still have not arrived to our team in Ukraine and we did not want to delay the monthly update any longer. It has now been a month since they left the PCBA factory in China, traveled through the forwarder for delivery to Ukraine, and the shipment has been stuck in customs for over two weeks. Hopefully the package will be released soon 🤞🏻. (While it says it's been resolved, as you can see from the screenshot, it's bogus). Shipping details shown blurred below.

    🇨🇳 The Chinese

When we first hired the Chinese team, their role was to handle electronic selection and PCBA development. Based on our contract and what we agreed to, we expected the selection process to be collaborative, but it was not. When it came time to choosing certain components, they did not include us in those decisions. Instead, they presented us with the selected set of parts only after they had already started coding and PCBA work, which was not what our contract outlined. We were supposed to approve everything along the way, but they made selections without asking us or getting sign-off.

The chip they selected for our PCBA was a perfect example. We asked many times why they chose that chip and tried to question alternatives, but we were repeatedly brushed off with vague answers like “it is a really good chip.” Two and a half years ago we had a decision to make: keep pushing and risk losing six months of time and money, or accept what they gave us.

It was not until last year that we discovered why their communication was so poor. The truth, which we have mentioned before, was that they had outsourced the work. Decision-making was not even done by the Chinese team themselves but by the outsourced company.

As we have explained before, when we severed our relationship with the Chinese, they were supposed to provide us with files, contact information, and everything related to our project. They failed in that as well. Over the following months, we worked to track down each factory and piece of contact information so we could continue building our product when our PCBA was ready. The problem was that many items were coded to specific products, so we could not simply swap one screen factory for another. It took our team months to track down the factories tucked away in China.

    📸 Camera Update

The camera was one of those components we questioned two and a half years ago, but the Chinese team pushed back. From the beginning, one of the issues we had was that we felt the interior camera was not capturing enough of the safe’s interior. Each time we asked about alternatives or possible solutions, the reply was the same: “this is the best option, and switching the camera would mean reworking the drivers and system integration, which would add three months of work and a lot of extra cost.” At the time, with their poor communication and the fact they came highly recommended, we reluctantly trusted their judgment. In our minds, “they knew what they were doing,” and we just wanted to get the product out to everyone as fast as we could.

The good news is that a few months ago, we finally established contact with the camera factory and began exploring new lens and camera options that would not require extra development time or cost. Since last month’s update, we have already received and tested several new samples from our supplier.

The new camera results were a major win for us. With just a $1 increase, we upgraded the lens from a standard lens to a fisheye lens. The new fisheye lens now gives us the ability to see the complete inside of the safe, and in sharper HD quality.

Another important finding came while comparing the new models. We discovered that the Chinese team had created a coding problem with the video and camera system. The interior cameras were limited to accept only 1MPx input, which is the lowest level of HD for video recording, rather than what our camera actually supports, which is far beyond basic HD. While this limitation does not prevent the camera or stream from working, it is something we have taken note of. Once we secure funding, our team will recode the system to allow for full HD max input.

Below you can see comparison images showing the difference between the original camera and the new fisheye camera, both in lens coverage and input quality.

While this may not sound exciting or important, for us it is another meaningful improvement and a win achieved in tandem while we wait for the Ukrainian team to receive and review the PCBA for MP approval.

    Tradeshow

At the end of August we were invited to display our product and company at a mini tradeshow for investors:

Anything else we should be aware of? Yes, at this stage, we believe the earliest we will see a mass production run will be around February.

As previously shared, we are exploring new investment opportunities to sell part of the company and help support mass production and offset some of the losses we’ve absorbed throughout development. This support would allow us to move quickly into full production and meet current and future demand.

We kindly request your cooperation in refraining from sending emails requesting delivery dates and any negative messages, as we no longer plan to respond to those individual inquiries. Rest assured, we're actively working to expedite the process and will provide updates as soon as they become available. Your understanding and patience during this time is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

    TLDR - SUMMARY
